| Full Rules |
The league will run for 9 consecutive weeks.
The league will start Tuesday Jan 15th, 2008 (for A class) and Wednesday Jan 16th, 2008 (for B class)
Start time is always at 7:30pm sharp
There will be two classes (A and B)
The A class will compete on Tuesday nights; the B class will compete on Wednesday nights
The A class will have 6 participants max (these are our top players, if you want to be in this class email me; otherwise you will start in B)
The B class will have all of the other participants (maximum of 12 people)
Each meet will have a maximum of either 6 rounds (1 game per round, 3 balls per game) played or run until 10:30pm (rounds started before 10:00pm will be finished)
Round Scoring: The person who scores the highest in a given round will earn 4 points, 2nd earns 3 points, 3rd earns 2 points and 4th earns 1 point. This will be done for all rounds played during the meet. A class and B class will be awarded points separately.
Meet Scoring: After the meet has ended, the player with the most points for the given meet earns 4 league points, 2nd earns league 3 points, 3rd earns 2 league points, 4th earns 1 league point. Only these league points given at the end of the meet will accumulated and used to determine the league winner. A class and B class will be awarded points separately.
The league winner can be from either the A class or the B class. It is whoever has the most accumulated league points after 9 weeks.
If the winner is from A, 2nd place will be drawn from B; if the winner is from B, 2nd place will be drawn from A. 1st place will get 75% of the prize pool. 2nd place will get the remaining 25%.
Entry is $45 total (paid up-front) for the 9 weeks. This includes your 6 credits/meet (total of 54 games @3games/$2 = $36) and $1 toward the prize pool per week ($9). If you do not show up, the $4 for your paid credits will go into the prize pool (or you can send a replacement player, see the last point below)... this is amount is low enough to keep it fun.
The twist: At the 3 week point and the 6 week point, the top 2 guys from B will bump up and move into A, the bottom two guys from A will move down into B. This will present new challenges to the group in hopes of raising your games, but also means you might be playing on a different night of the week. Please keep this in mind before joining.
Extra balls are played (B class only). Go for the extra ball. It will count.
Replacement players: if you are not going to be in town for a particular week, (I already know I have to be out of town one week), you can send in a replacement player provided that the player is not already in the league and that you email the information to me (so we have record of it). Everyone is going to miss weeks here or there, but maybe people will send a friend, colleague, etc. and that person could potentially get interested and join on their own. To make the league successful, we need to build up the player base. Also, the credits are paid for, so it is your option and anyone can come have fun. Besides, Ed Z will be happy to fill in for you and give us all a challenge on an interim basis. You cannot send the same player in more than two times and you cannot be there if you submit a replacement. |
